Christl Verduyn taught at Trent University (1980-2000), before moving first to Wilfrid Laurier and then to Mount Allison University, where she holds the Davidson Chair and is Director of the Centre for Canadian Studies.  She is the author or editor of ten books, including works on Margaret Laurence and Marian Engel, and on Quebec, multicultural and Aboriginal writing. She worked with Shelley Ambrose in the early days to help to establish the Lakefield Literary Festival.
