An actor, author and playwright, Mark spent his early years involved in theatre work in Ireland and England. After emigrating to Canada he worked in broadcasting and as a freelance journalist in southern Ontario for several years. While living in Nova Scotia he authored three books and wrote documentary scripts about mysteries of maritime history. The Town of Cobourg presented his locally based folk play The Corktown Man as part of its 175th anniversary celebrations. Several of his history themed plays have been performed at Lang Pioneer Village and other venues. In 2015 Peterborough County commissioned him to write, direct and narrate Words from the Wilderness, a theatrical presentation about the region’s rich literary heritage.
