Divisions:       Junior – Grades 9 and 10, enrolled in Peterborough and area high schools*

Senior – Grades 11 and 12, enrolled in Peterborough and area high schools*

Genre:            Non-fiction or fiction prose; or poetry

Length:           Prose – approximately 500 – 1,000 words; poetry –two pages (12 pt font)

# of Entries:  One per genre

Topic:              Your choice – see rules for additional details regarding non -fiction prose

Title Page:      The title page must contain your name, title, grade, teacher, school, your address, telephone number, email address, and genre of your entry

Deadline:        Submit entries digitally to the festival website, or to your teacher, on or before   12:00 midnight, May 14th

Prizes:            One winner in each division and genre wins $100.00

The winners will be honoured during a festival event held on Saturday, July 13th

Each winner receives a commemorative plaque

Winning submissions will be featured in the Literary Festival e-book and a regional newspaper.
