Iain Reid is the author of four previous books, including his New York Times bestselling debut novel I’m Thinking of Ending Things, which has been translated into more than twenty languages. Oscar winner Charlie Kaufman wrote and directed the film adaptation for Netflix. His second novel, Foe, is also being adapted for a film starring Saoirse Ronan, with Reid co-writing the screenplay – making him “Hollywood’s favourite Canadian,” according to The Globe and Mail.
At the 2023 Lakefield Literary Festival, Reid will be reading from his latest novel, We Spread, which was described by The Guardian as “a fine piece of weird fiction … that focuses especially on the ways in which older people are marginalized by a society that renders them invisible.”
