The Lakefield Literary Festival depends entirely on volunteers.

We have a volunteer Board, individuals and businesses volunteer as sponsors, Young Writers Contest judges are volunteers, and volunteers perform a host of duties to help the festival weekend run smoothly from start to finish.

Just some of the volunteer possibilities

  • Take tickets at the theatre doors on Friday or Saturday evening, or on Saturday afternoon.
  • Help with the Saturday afternoon reception, perhaps (if you have smart serve) serving beer and wine.
  • Help with marketing by sending messages on social media or taking flyers to businesses.
  • Be trained as an author attendant, contacting authors, meeting them when they arrive and helping them feel welcome.
  • Help with parking at the event, pointing drivers to designated spots.
  • Help judge the Young Writers Contest.
  • Help in the Saturday Children’s Tent.
  • Join us on the Board.
  • Help coordinate the volunteers.
