Natalie MacMaster has thrilled audiences worldwide with her award-winning Celtic fiddling. In I have a Love Story she shares the journey from her childhood on Cape Breton island to the world stage and meeting the love of her life, husband and fiddler Donnell Leahy, giving us an intimate look at what it means to balance family life and raising seven children with the career of a high-profile musician. Join her for a conversation about her remarkable life, her music and her love story. This event will include a musical performance.

Natalie MacMaster
Natalie MacMaster received her first fiddle at the age of nine and released her first recording at sixteen. She has gone on to a musical career performing world-wide and has won two June Awards, was nominated for a Grammy and received many other awards. She toured and performed with artists such as Allison Krauss, Carlos Santana, The Chieftains, Thomas Dolby, Raffi, Sharon Lois & Bram and Yo-Yo Ma. She married Donnell Leahy of the Leahy Family Band and together they have seven children who occasionally join them on stage.
Megan Murphy
Megan Murphy’s career in the performing arts has spanned more than two decades working in film, television, theatre and radio. She graduated from York University’s Fine Arts program, the Second City Conservatory as well as the Seneca College Documentary Filmmaking Institute. Megan has won awards for both her short doc Towns End and her feature film Murphy’s Law. She is a public speaker, a published writer and was Co-Creator of the play Wild Irish Geese, performed this summer at 4th Line Theatre.
